On the occurrence of sharpnose seven-gill shark Heptranchias perlo (Hexanchidae) from the Algerian coast (Southwestern Mediterranean Sea)

- The authors report the captures of specimens of sharpnose seven-gill shark Heptranchias perlo (Bonnaterre, 1788) from the Algerian coast (southwestern Mediterranean Sea) and among them, a specimen is described in the present study. It was an adult male, measuring 1110 mm in total length, and its total body weight has been estimated at 5 kilograms. These findings constitute additional records of the species from the Algerian coast. In addition, the origin and the relative abundance of these captures are commented and discussed.

- Sur la présence du requin perlon Heptranchias perlo (Hexanchidae) sur les côtes algériennes (sudouest de la Méditerranée). Les auteurs rapportent les captures de spécimens du requin perlon Heptranchias perlo (Bonnaterre, 1788) devant la côte algérienne (Méditerranée du sud-ouest) et parmi eux un spécimen est décrit dans la présente étude. Il s'agit d'un mâle adulte, mesurant 1110 mm de longueur totale, et son poids entier a été estimé à 5 kilogrammes. Ce sont de nouveaux signalements de l'espèce devant la côte algérienne. De plus, l'origine et la relative abondance de ces captures sont commentées et discutées.
